Projects
Pueblo, CO Express Scripts selected a former big box site for their 73,800 SF contact center designed to accommodate 594 seats. They used a rich color palette throughout the space. Creative use of ceiling mounted indirect lighting added to the aesthetics for the workroom, training and conference rooms. The center employs an integrated, raised-floor system installed with under-floor HVAC.
Jeannette, PA The interior design brands the history, products and the global nature of the company to employees and visitors. The interior layout was designed with uniform cube sizes from the Chief Operations Officer on down.
San Antonio, TX KSBA completed a two phase, 8,140 SF renovation to the Marriott Global Services existing office space. The renovation included the expansion of the rest room facilities, conference rooms, office space, and a call floor that seats 190 work stations.
Gibsonia, PA The original 2,400 acre site was an orchard that contained multiple wood frame farm buildings, which the community center was modeled after. The use of custom designed mortise and tenon heavy timber framing, natural wood and indigenous stone reinforces the design concept, and establishes an informal image rooted in the history of the site.
Bellevue, PA This four story, 20,000 SF professional office building was built to accommodate the space needs of physicians associated with Suburban General.
West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV The new Reemsynder Research Center expands and updates the campus' scientific capabilities. This center is attached to the former science education building via a sunny, two-story walkway.
McAllen, TX For this 75,000 SF space, KSBA performed programming; space planning; architectural design(including furniture layout); economic analysis of various "performance design" alternatives; as well as construction documents and administration for the fast-track fit-out of this customer service center. The project was finished on time, in just 16 weeks from start to finish, and below budget.
Montego Bay, Jamaica KSBA designed the 90,000 SF performance design call center with seating for over 660 individuals. Sustainable features include: on-site storm water harvesting, maximized day-lighting, and reduced air conditioning costs due to energy recovery units.
Munhall, PA KSBA designed this worship space after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey, which is considered to be the traditional model of classical Byzantine church architecture. The bells, stained glass windows and other artifacts were reused from the old church to maintain a continuity of place.
Erie, PA The renovation and expansion of the Erie Federal Courthouse included upgrading existing court facilities to current standards of security and required space, addition of new court facilities, and retention of Post Office functions. The aim was to create a highly visible, glass entry connecting two historical buildings, the library and the existing courthouse.
Jeannette, PA This 130,000 SF, 2 story building was designed with multiple conference, meeting, and huddle rooms near food service to encourage sharing.
West Mifflin, PA The Community College desired an addition (47,000 SF) compatible with the existing (220,000 SF) concrete and glass building, but that still had its own distinct identity. KSBA's solution was to use the same palette of materials while accenting the vertical massing of the addition and introducing limited primary colors.
Pittsburgh, PA KSBA provided full service master planning, programming and architectural design services for this new 30,000 SF office/warehouse facility.
Aspinwall, PA After a fire destroyed the church, KSBA designed the new church using a classic cruciform plan with exposed heavy timber structural beams. The original bell tower was preserved and converted into a side entrance for elevator access.
Pensacola, FL The focal point in this 57,000 SF Call Center was the patchwork quilt-style application of bold colors in the common hallways and strong use of colors in break-rooms and other spaces. The entire center used an integrated, raised-floor system with under floor HVAC for greater user comfort and increased air circulation.
Indiana, PA The complete restoration of McElhany Hall's exterior and the updating of the interior, included this cylindrical interior light well at the main entrance. Floors in this area are glass block to allow light to filter down from the upper floor.
Montego Bay, Jamaica This new building was the first of a campus of buildings constructed in Montego Bay. In addition to the call center and administrative offices, the complex has food service, fitness facilities and a soccer field.
Pittsburgh, PA The design process was highly interactive with the occupants and included the first ever use of Perceptual Market Research (PMR) techniques to provide user input into the perceptual aspects of architectural design. Removal of the supply ducts from the ceiling allowed the ceiling to be raised to accommodate indirect/direct lighting over the work area. The integrated access floor allowed power and air outlets to be positioned within one foot of any point on the floor.
